The client is a commercial pilot based in Sydney, Australia, with 18 years of flying experience. The client has flying experience with many international airlines including Emirates Air, Qantas, and Singapore Airlines.

The Requirement

The client had collated log books from many commercial pilots. The log books were in the form of handwritten notes, and contained various information including travel miles flied etc. The client required an outsourcing partner to transcribe the log book data and enter it into an Excel format.

Project Challenges faced by O2I

• Log books were in different formats, from different pilots, and the handwriting was illegible at times
• The client made urgent ad hoc requests, requesting prioritization of different log books

O2I's Solution

On receiving the client's business enquiry, O2I undertook a Scope of Work assessment and a quality test (trial) was scheduled. During the trial, the client transferred 20 scanned records, i.e. 20 rows in excel, via G-Drive. O2I assigned one full-time business resource to handle the project. O2I's resource transcribed the log books into an Excel format and emailed it back to the client. Records that could not be verified were highlighted and sent back to the client. The client checked the highlight and transcribed the same himself. The trial was successfully completed in one business day.

Based on the success of the trial, the client signed an ongoing contract with O2I to outsource 400 records per day. O2I assigned three full-time resources to handle the project with two trained additional resources kept on standby.
