Parisian Fashion Designer Receives Scanning and Digitization Services from O2I

The Client

The client is an award-winning fashion designer based in Paris, France. The client has 14 years of experience in womenswear design and has played a pivotal role in styles and trends within the Parisian fashion circle.

The client is responsible for the design and development of a leading designer label and manages the mood board creation, design, sketching etc., in collaboration with the business owner and design assistants.

The Requirement

The client had acquired a high-volume of measurement sheets for the development of dress designs. Each measurement sheet consisted of several components (sleeve, neck, torso etc.)

The client wanted an outsourcing partner to scan and digitize the measurement sheets i.e., each individual component, at the most affordable rates.

Project Challenges Faced by O2I during the Project

• Many of the measurement sheets were crumpled, stained and illegible.
• Multiple components on each sheet (sleeve, neck, torso etc.) made assembling the design difficult.

O2I's Solution

O2I assessed the client requirement and suggested the client courier the measurement sheets to our delivery center in India. The client sent O2I seven components (sleeves, torso, neck) via courier. A quality test was scheduled, and one data management resource assigned.

Next, O2I's resource used a hot iron to iron out each component and remove the wrinkles and folds. The resource then scanned the components, carried out minor design edits (using Adobe Photoshop) to emphasize cuts, segments outlines etc. The components were then converted into PDF files and transferred back to the client via email. The trial was completed within one business day.

The Result

The client was pleased with the output and signed a full-time contract with O2I to scan and digitize twenty five dress designs (measurement sheets). Each measurement sheet consisted of 15 - 20 dress components. The client couriered the required measurement sheets to O2I. We assigned three full-time data management resources and completed the project within a month, delivering one dress per day (resources combined to edit the various components).
